The Icom IC-SAT100/M is the dedicated satellite push-to-talk (PTT) radio, and is the only PTT radio offering real-time communications at the push of a button between a group of individuals, each of whom can be anywhere on the planet. The IC-SAT100/M uses the Iridium® satellite communication network, which covers the entire globe, including both poles. Icom’s IC-SAT100M is a PTT satellite radio designed for fixed mount operations. Unlike handheld satellite radios, users with the IC-SAT100M do not need to stay outside for a clear view of the sky for a stable communication connection. This global satellite mobile radio’s design easily provides coverage from vehicle to in-building use.

The MSAT-G2 Mobile Satellite Radio is a powerful new communications tool that works where you do. Designed for use on the MSAT Network, the MSAT-G2 supports continent-wide Push-to-Talk (PTT) Dispatch Radio and Circuit Switched Voice communications. In addition, the MSAT-G2 provides GPS capability and flexible interconnectivity to a variety of 3rd party interoperability interfaces, extending the reach of traditional Land Mobile Radio Technology.

The MSAT G2 Basic Go Kit is mounted in a Pelican case (available in silver, desert tan, yellow, orange or black) with no exterior connections. All components are contained within the case. Overall design is small, light, and rugged and reasonably priced. The MSAT-G2 is installed into the case with no foam or similar material. The transceiver is installed on top of the faceplate so that the ports on the transceiver unit are easily accessible - DB-9 serial port, handset port, and Ethernet port. Transceiver unit is installed in such a manner to be easily removed or replaced by the user. This setup includes two (2) 12V Cigarette Lighter Plugs, one (1) 6’ 12V DC Charging Cable and one (1) 6’ 110V AC Charging Cable.

Go-kits are mounted in a black Pelican case with no exterior connections. All components are contained within the case. Overall design is as small, light, and rugged and reasonably priced. The MSAT-G2 is installed into the case with no foam or similar material.

The transceiver is installed, so that the ports on the transceiver unit are extended to the faceplate for full access to all the ports DB-9 serial port, handset port, and Ethernet port.

Transceiver unit is installed in such a manner to be easily removed or replaced by the user.

Threaded antenna cable fittings should be covered with a leashed, threaded cap.

To communicate with the satellites, SkyTerra users employ the MSAT-G2. The MSAT-G2 is lightweight and can be installed in a building, in a vehicle, or packaged as a Go-Kit for portable satellite communications. A Go-Kit is an MSAT-G2 packaged in a durable, water-resistant container with a battery to supply power for remote and “on-the-go” operations.
